Lenny G was born & raised in Los Angeles, CA. At the young age of 10, his uncles had gotten him into the DJ scene where he started off playing Techno & House music. Like most DJ’s, he started off playing weddings, birthdays, & private parties, however, he wanted to develop his technical skills further. At the age of 16, he started to enter local DJ battles learning various tricks & skills that were influenced heavily by Richard Vission & Bad Boy Bill. These DJ’s were a major factor in the development of DJ Lenny G’s quick mixing & scratching skills.
When DJ Lenny G was 19, he became the manager for Astro records. And during the late 90′s & early 2000’s, he worked as a co-producer & DJ for the Viva 107.1FM radio station Insomnio show. He also had the opportunity to work directly under America’s #1 female DJ, DJ Irene, at the #1 club in Hollywood, the Arena Nightclub. In mid 2000, he worked as the assistant to & was mentored by the mix show coordinator, DJ Hideo, for 100.3FM The Beat. Thanks to DJ Hideo, DJ Lenny G was fortunate enough to get hired into the promotions department & was also given the opportunity to be an on air mixer for 100.3FM during the Friday Night Beat Down show. In 2006, he began working for the radio station, Latino 96.3FM (now Mega 96.3FM), on the promotions team. After a 3 year hiatus, DJ Lenny G returned to The Beat, stronger than ever, as an on air mixer.
DJ Lenny G’s further accomplishments include working for WaxWorks Records alongside Darren R. & George Centeno, known notoriously for being L.A.’s #1 Hard House music producers. He has also worked many radio promoted events such as 102.7FM’s (KIIS FM) Wango Tango Festival, 92.3FM’s (The Real) Dub Show, various Indie radio stations, special events for Boost Mobile, the Smokeout Festival (founded by Cypress Hill), & more.
